Satcher and Brandford’s wedding had so many incredible details. From the heirloom veil to the amazing spun sugar cake topper the wedding was full of meaningful details. One of the highlights was a full gospel choir singing, “Oh Happy Day” as we entered the reception. There is too much to post from this wedding so I thought I would include the slideshow so you can see a good sample of the wedding. Enjoy!
I’ve been out of the office for the past 2 weeks on some very important business. First was the PPSC (prof. photographers of SC) convention. I love the convention because every year I come back with new ideas and a rejuvenated spirit.
Then at the end of last week we headed to Ohio (through the blizzard). This was a special trip since we were visiting our closest friends and their new baby. We originally met Brad and Tonya when they lived in Columbia. Tonya went to USC and Brad played hockey with my husband. Tonya and I got along right from the beginning. We’ve endured many cold hockey rinks together over the past few years. Danny and I were extremely honored when we got the call asking us to be Godparents. I couldn’t wait to finally see him in person. I managed to take a few pictures along the way. Of course the guys made us bring out the hockey jersey (it’s still about 2 years too big).We even took the little guy to his first NHL hockey game. He loved it!

The trip back home….

The interstate through the car window…The snow plows couldn’t clear the roads fast enough. It took us 4 hours of traveling before the speedometer hit 50mph. My little car doesn’t quite cut it in all of that snow.

While Brandford and Satcher are soaking up the sun in Antigua, I am wishing the rain would go away here. I really love this image below. Let me just say the umbrella wasn’t just a cool prop. Stay tuned for more…

It’s crazy how quickly time goes by. Only two years ago I photographed the wedding of this beautiful little girl’s mom and dad. I couldn’t believe how much little Mary Hall had changed in six months. I posted our newborn session below so you can see the changes.
Since I photograph entirely in client homes sometimes I am limited in my setup and lighting equipment. But I decided to go for more of a “studio” look with the 6 month session since our newborn session was a candid lifestyle session. You can see the difference in the two sessions. The newborn session is less about perfect lighting and more about the relationship between mom, dad, and baby. Where our newest six month session showcased more of the baby. Although I did work mom into the session and Mary Hall loved it.
I think both studio style sessions and lifestyle sessions are important. Although as the child gets older, I like to move towards all lifestyle sessions. It’s more fun for a little one who is always on the move. But while they are still little I love having the chance to photograph them in this light.

What a beautiful wedding to end 2009. Special thanks to Lindsay Alexander for helping me out. It’s always fun to shoot with another photographer.
